New Chalk Art Typography Sign

I Adore You Chalk Art Typography Sign

I’ve been super busy lately trying to keep up with the orders coming in and also preparing for Craft Lake City at the same time. Sometimes when you’re so busy it can be difficult to set aside time to work on new ideas. I always have plenty ideas swimming around my head, just not enough time to work on them.

Today, I had some rare time to work on a new concept and I’m really happy with the way it turned out.  I combined the concept of chalk art with my typography signs into one unique piece.  I think that the hand-cut white letters contrast beautifully with the chalk background and as a result, these pieces really stand out.

If you are so inclined to buy this one, you can find it in my shop. I think this was a successful experiment in creating this chalk art typography sign, so I’m sure that I’ll be coming up with a few more and posting them in the shop too.  If you have a custom saying you want me to design for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me also.

Choose Joy and Whatever Craft Weekend Sponsorship

Choose Joy Typography Sign

One of the items on my bucket list is to attend a Whatever Craft Weekend.  Although I haven’t received an invite to the weekend yet, it was awesome to be selected by Meg Duerksen of the Whatever Blog (one of my absolute favorite blogs) as a Craft Weekend sponsor. It was a lot of work to make one of my Shine On signs for each participant’s swag bag (I hand-cut everything myself), but well worth it.  I hope this will be the first of many opportunities to be a Craft Weekend sponsor.

I’ve also been working on several custom orders recently and wanted to share a variation I made of my Choose Happy sign at the request of a customer.  I think this Choose Joy sign turned out really well.  I’ve now made it available in my store for anyone else who would like to pick one up.

My Signs on KSL

KSL TV Morning ShowSome of my typography signs will appear tomorrow on the KSL 5 News Today TV morning show as part of a feature on Mindy Mae’s Market.  You might have to get up a little early to see it, but you should be able to catch a glimpse of one of my signs during one of the segments starting at 5:45 am (MST) or later.

Mindy Mae will chat about her business and Open House which will take place in Farmington on this Saturday, 5/25 from 10 am – 6 pm.  I’ll be selling some of my popular typography signs and sunburst wreaths as part of it.

I’m looking forward to my signs getting a little bit of air time and can wait for the open house this weekend!  If you’re not in Northern Utah or can’t make it out on Saturday, feel free to grab something in our shop.

Accepted into Craft Lake City

Craft Lake City Festival

I received the good news this week that I was accepted into the Craft Lake City craft fair & DIY festival in Downtown Salt Lake City. It will take place on August 9th & 10th at the Gallivan Center and will feature over 200 different vendors. This is the 5th year that they have held the festival and it keeps getting bigger and better every year. I’m sure this year will not be an exception to the rule.

There will be a wide variety of local artisans, DIY engineers, craft foodies, vintage vendors, and performance artists performing, showing off their stuff and displaying their wares.

I’ll be hard at work all summer preparing for it. Be sure to mark your calendars–this is going to be a good one.

My Mother Told Me…

My Mother Told Me Typography Sign

I’ve been swamped with with projects, so it’s been difficult to find a moment to write a short post.  Today, I wanted to quickly share a pic of one of my recent projects.  I was commissioned to do a custom typography sign for a wedding reception with a cute saying.  This one turned out great and this saying seemed to fit perfectly for the occasion.  I hope the newlywed couple enjoys it for years to come!

Hope On Journey On

Hope On Journey On Typography Sign

We all need a reminder to persevere through the challenges in life.  These beautiful words of encouragement on this typography sign were spoken by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland in a recent discourse.  Making this one has inspired me to remember to enjoy the journey, even when it is difficult.

I made this one as a gift for a family member, but I will also gladly create one for those who would like their own.  It’s now been posted for your shopping enjoyment on our site.

Queen Bee Market Experience

Evie Ivy Booth at the Queen Bee Market

I’m finally getting a moment to pause and reflect on my experience being a vendor at the Queen Bee Market at Snap.  It has been a whirlwind since the time we opened our booth at the market up until now.  We received such an overwhelmingly positive response both during the show and after it.

It was everything I hoped it would be and more.

I’m very appreciative and flattered by those who have offered me praise and provided encouragement.  Many of you in the blogging world, as well as my fellow vendors, have been great to me and have spread the word on social media.

I also owe a great debt of gratitude to Mique for giving me the opportunity to showcase my designs.  I’ll definitely be back for Queen Bee in Utah next year and am looking forward to hopefully doing the Queen Bee Market in San Diego as well.

If you missed out on buying one of our signs at the show or want a custom design, now is a perfect time to get your order in!  We’ve opened up our website to take new orders for a limited number of people.

Great things will be coming from Evie Ivy in the future so please continue to follow our blog here and our social media profiles for the latest!
